It is a beautiful balmy 4 degrees outside, we have just eaten breakfast and it is starting to lighten up a little outside, it is 10:23 in the morning. When I look out the window this is what I see
Yes that’s right… monochrome! Black and white, with some shades of grey. This is the color of the outdoors at the moment. Amazing how pretty monochrome can be. Today is the last day of November, hard to believe another month of this year is gone and only one left before a new year!
The warmer temps mean the roads may be icy so we have to be more cautious, and it also means the wind is blowing, it makes it feel warmer, then everyone takes their heavier coats off and gets sick because it is just deception in the wind.

Whew! This is a new challenge for me. I am pretty sure I can take it on… but… am a little nervous. This is just a quick post to introduce myself. I am K Fields.
As you probably already have noticed… I live in Alaska. Most of these posts will be related to that in some way. I even use photos to help you understand what I am talking about.
Like for instance today where I live… it is -20 degrees Fahrenheit!
Here is a photo of the thermostat outside!
And we consider this a warm winter day! I know that sounds extreme to some, but we are really quite use to it, and often are glad that it is this cold because it keeps the ice from building up on the roads, and makes them easier to drive on. I know that *colder means less ice buildup on roads* doesn’t make sense when you try to be analytical about it… but it’s true! :)
Later…
